| Detailed Description |
At 8:34 a.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain. This line of severe thunderstorms is located from 8 kilometres west of Gull Bay to 11 kilometres west of Black Sturgeon River Provincial Park to 9 kilometres southeast of Ward Lake, moving northeast at 70 km/h. Hazard: 100 km/h wind gusts, nickel size hail and heavy rainfall. Locations impacted include: Gull Bay, Sleeping Giant Provincial Park, Black Sturgeon River Provincial Park, Dorion, Nipigon, Ruby Lake Provincial Park, Lake Nipigon Provincial Park, Duck Bay, East Bay, Chief Bay, Wabinosh Lake, Sparks Lake, West Bay, Black Sturgeon Bay, English Bay, Amethyst Harbour, Beck, Black Sturgeon Lake, Mason Lake and Twenty Minute Lake. ### Local utility outages are likely. Large hail may cause significant damage and injury. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain. |
