| Detailed Description | An incoming weather system will spread rain into the southern panhandle starting Thursday afternoon with gusty winds of 25 to 35 mph possible. Heaviest rainfall rate will be Thursday evening to early Friday morning. * WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE. Ward Lake near areas near the Ward Lake recreational area. * WHEN. Until 1145 AM AKDT Friday. * IMPACTS. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 716 PM AKDT, river gauge reports indicate rises in water levels from heavy rain across the advisory area. Minor flooding is expected to begin Thursday night and early Friday morning, especially near Ward Lake. Rainfall amounts of 1.5 to 2.25 inches are possible. Potential crest height near 252.0 ft which is flood stage, Friday morning. |
