| Detailed Description | An extended period of very warm to hot weather and humid is occurring. Time span: continuing through Wednesday. Maximum daytime temperatures: 28 to 32 degrees Celsius (humidex 34 to 37). Minimum overnight temperatures: 16 to 20 degrees Celsius, except near 10 degrees tonight for coastal areas. Locations: Upper Lake Melville, Eagle River, and the Labrador coast from Lodge Bay to Rigolet. Remarks: A very warm air mass will persist over the region until midweek when temperatures will begin moderating. A brief respite from the heat is expected along the coast tonight as temperatures fall below warning criteria; however, temperatures in these are expected to rebound on Tuesday and remain high for a few more days before easing. ### Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
