An extended period of hot and humid weather continues. Time span: continuing through Wednesday. Maximum daytime temperatures: 28 to 32 degrees Celsius (Humidex 34 to 37). Minimum overnight temperatures: 16 to 20 degrees Celsius, except near 10 degrees tonight for coastal areas. Locations: Upper Lake Melville, Eagle River, and the Labrador coast from Lodge Bay to Rigolet. Remarks: A very warm air mass will persist over the region until midweek when temperatures will begin moderating. A brief respite from the heat is occurring along the coast tonight; however, temperatures in these areas are expected to rebound on Tuesday and will remain high for a couple more days. ### Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
