| Detailed Description | * WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE. Portions of northeast North Carolina, including the following areas, Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Eastern Currituck, Gates, Hertford, Northampton, Pasquotank, Perquimans and Western Currituck and southeast Virginia, including the following areas, Chesapeake, Hampton/Poquoson, Isle of Wight, James City, Newport News, Norfolk/Portsmouth, Southampton, Suffolk, Virginia Beach and York. * WHEN. From Friday afternoon through late Friday night. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - Showers and thunderstorms are likely Friday afternoon and evening. Localized rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches are possible in a few spots. With the saturated ground, there will be a threat for flash flooding. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood |
