Brief Description Special Marine Warning
Detailed Description SMWBUF The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a * Special Marine Warning for. Lake Erie from Ripley to Angola. * Until 1000 PM EDT. * At 755 PM EDT, areas of showers and embedded thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts and wind gusts over 34 knots were located across the central Lake Erie basin moving east at 15 knots. HAZARD. Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include. Van Buren Point, Lake Erie Beach, Dunkirk, Barcelona, Ripley, and Sunset Bay.
