This warning is in effect for parts of the coast due to the following hazard(s): High storm surge. Large waves. Higher than normal water levels. A significant storm surge event with large waves and pounding surf is expected to begin Saturday morning. The highest water levels are expected to reach 1.5 metres above high astronomical tide on Saturday. These conditions will cause significant damage to infrastructure and buildings near the coast, including the beach area and water entry points. Water levels will subside Saturday night. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. Flooding is likely near the coastline and in nearby low-lying areas. Buildings along low-lying coastal areas are at risk of being flooded or damaged. These warnings are issued when water levels pose a flooding threat to coastal areas.
