Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. A low pressure system over northern Saskatchewan will trigger scattered thunderstorms this afternoon. This severe thunderstorm watch may be expanded eastward as the afternoon progresses. The thunderstorm threat will diminish later this evening. ### Heavy rain can cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Strong wind gusts can damage trees, buildings and overturn vehicles. Large hail can cause significant damage and injury. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.
