| Detailed Description |
* WHAT. Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE. A portion of central North Carolina, including the following counties, Alamance, Chatham, Durham, Granville, Orange and Wake. * WHEN. Until 700 AM EDT. * IMPACTS. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 353 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Up to 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Hillsborough, Creedmoor, Carrboro, Mebane, Butner, Rougemont, Morrisville, Swepsonville, Stem, Eno River State Park, Schley, Parkwood, Bethesda, Efland, Gorman, Bahama and Lake Michie. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood |
