| Detailed Description | Hot and humid weather continues. Locations: central, northeastern, and eastern Newfoundland, as well as the northern Avalon Peninsula. Time span: ending this evening. Maximum temperatures today: near 28 degrees Celsius. Cooler where winds blow onshore. Remarks: A much cooler air mass is expected to settle over the island on Friday as a cold front moves across the region. ### Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
