Statements 3:50 PM NDT Thursday 18 April 2024 Special Weather Statement in effect for: Terra Nova A combination of snow and rain is expected, along with gusty winds. Locations: areas from Terra Nova to St. John''s and vicinity. Time span: until Friday morning. Total snowfall: 2 to 5 cm, with locally higher amounts possible. Total rainfall: 10 to 20 mm. Maximum wind gusts: northerly 60 km/h, except 100 along parts of the coast. Remarks: Snow, especially over elevated terrain, will transition to rain early this evening as temperatures rise above zero. A brief period of ice pellets may occur over some areas during the changeover. Driving conditions in snow, especially over higher terrain, have been poor today and will likely stay poor until the snow changes to rain this evening.
