4:03 PM ADT Monday 29 April 2024 Freezing Rain Warning in effect for: Eagle River Freezing rain is expected or occurring. Locations: mainly between Crooks Lake and Paradise River. Time span: this evening until early Tuesday morning. Remarks: Freezing rain is expected to be most extensive between Crooks Lake and Paradise River, where amounts near 10 millimetres are likely. However, some patchy freezing rain is also possible near Cartwright and Black Tickle, especially over elevated terrain where temperatures will be coldest. Precipitation will fall as mostly as a mixture of snow and ice pellets west of Crooks Lake, where near 10 centimetres of accumulation is likely to occur. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
