Detailed Description SMWJAX The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued a * Special Marine Warning for. Coastal waters from Altamaha Sound to Fernandina Beach FL out 20 NM. Coastal waters from Fernandina Beach to St. Augustine FL out 20 NM. Waters from Altamaha Sound GA to Fernandina Beach FL from 20 to 60 NM. * Until 930 PM EDT. * At 828 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near Amelia City, or 32 nm south of St. Simons Island, moving northeast at 10 knots. HAZARD. Wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include. Saint Marys Entrance Buoy 16, Cumberland Island, High Point, Buoy Cdh, Buoy Kby, and Whittakers Snapper Hole Reef.
