| Detailed Description |
* WHAT. Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE. Portions of Kansas, including the following counties, Johnson, Leavenworth, Miami and Wyandotte and west central Missouri, including the following counties, Cass, Clay, Jackson and Platte. * WHEN. Until 700 PM CDT. * IMPACTS. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 355 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. Kansas City, Overland Park, Olathe, Independence, Lee's Summit, Shawnee, Lenexa, Leavenworth, Leawood, Raytown, Liberty, Gladstone, Grandview, Belton, Prairie Village, Raymore, Gardner, Lansing, Excelsior Springs and Merriam. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood |
