Storm Surge Warning
Detailed Description
Storm surge is expected at times into the weekend. Minor flooding is possible with high tide early this morning. Maximum water levels have the potential to reach up to 20 cm above highest astronomical tide. On Saturday a more significant event will occur from early Saturday morning through Saturday evening. Water levels are forecast to be 25 to 35 cm above highest astronomical tide. Moderate flooding is anticipated. These conditions can cause damage to infrastructure near the coast, including boats beached or anchored along the shoreline. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to NTstorm@ec.gc.ca or post on X using #NTstorm. ### These warnings are issued when water levels pose a flooding threat to coastal areas.
