FFWCAE The National Weather Service in Columbia has extended the * Flash Flood Warning for. Central McCormick County in central South Carolina. * Until 1130 AM EDT. * At 922 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain falling across the warned area. Between 4 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD. Flash flooding caused by heavy rain. SOURCE. Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT. Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include. McCormick, Mccormick County Airport, Plum Branch, Whitetown and Hawe Creek Campground. County Emergency Manager reports that Stevens Creek is overflowing its banks and has caused the closure of Whitetown Road. Flooding is also ongoing, but not limited to, Bradley Road and New Hope Road.
