Brief Description Storm Surge Warning
Detailed Description Storm surge is expected this weekend at Herschel Island / Qikiqtaruk Territorial Park. The highest water levels are expected to reach 15 to 20 cm above highest astronomical tide this afternoon and may cause moderate flooding. These conditions can cause damage to infrastructure near the coast, including boats beached or anchored along the shoreline. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to NTstorm@ec.gc.ca or post on X using #NTstorm. ### These warnings are issued when water levels pose a flooding threat to coastal areas.
