Flood Advisory
Detailed Description
* WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE. A portion of central Virginia, including the following county, Amherst. * WHEN. Until 300 AM EDT. * IMPACTS. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 1159 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages. Long Branch, Buffalo River, Muddy Branch, Huff Creek, Davis Mill Creek, Little Piney River, Cox Branch, Brown Mountain Creek and Mill Creek. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. Forks Of Buffalo. Clifford. Lowesville. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
