| Detailed Description | Heavy wildfire smoke from fires in northern Arizona will continue to bring significant near surface smoke into portions of the Grand Staircase, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area/Lake Powell, portions of Capitol Reef National Park, the San Rafael Swell and western Canyonlands through at least Monday morning. This heavy smoke may reduce visibility to or below 2 miles at times on area roadways as well as on Lake Powell. The U.S. Interagency Wildland Fire Air Quality Response Program air quality forecast suggests air quality will fall to unhealthy for sensitive groups to very unhealthy for all groups at times through the afternoon into the overnight hours especially across eastern portions of the Grand Staircase and Glen Canyon/Lake Powell. When conditions reach these levels, everyone should consider avoiding outdoor physical activity.
