Brief Description Flood Watch
Detailed Description * WHAT. Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE. Portions of central and west central New Mexico, including the following areas, in central New Mexico, San Agustin Plains and Adjacent Lowlands and South Central Mountains. In west central New Mexico, Southwest Mountains. * WHEN. From noon MDT today through this evening. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms will develop again this afternoon over the high terrain and eventually migrate into the lower elevations. The slow-moving nature of storms will result in rainfall rates that will exceed two inches per hour. The burn scars in the Ruidoso area as well as locations previously saturated from heavy rain earlier in the week will be the most susceptible to dangerous flash flooding. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
