Brief Description Severe Thunderstorm Watch
Detailed Description Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts, large hail and torrential rain. Potential hazards include: - Rainfall rates of 25 mm per hour or higher. - Wind gusts of 70 to 90 km/h. - Up to nickel-sized hail. Locations: most of New Brunswick. Time span: until this evening. Remarks: A line of strong to severe thunderstorms has developed over eastern Quebec and will move east into New Brunswick early this afternoon, Large hail, strong winds, and torrential downpours are expected to accompany these storms as they move east across New Brunswick through this afternoon. ### Heavy rain can cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Strong wind gusts can damage trees, buildings and overturn vehicles. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.
