| Detailed Description | This is a heat warning. Temperatures are very high and there is a moderate risk to public health. Maximum temperatures are expected in the mid to high thirties. Where: Fraser Canyon, South Thompson and South Okanagan. When: Maximum temperatures are expected to reach 35-37 degrees Celsius today, Monday and Tuesday. Overnight lows are expected to be between 18-20 degrees Celsius. Maximum temperatures may continue into Wednesday. ### Heat affects everyone, but the risks are greater for: seniors, people who live alone, people with pre-existing health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease or respiratory disease, people with mental illness such as schizophrenia, depression, or anxiety, people with substance use disorders, people with limited mobility. Check on family, friends and neighbours, who are at higher risk, particularly if they live alone, to make sure they have a cool space. Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
