| Detailed Description | * WHAT. Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE. A portion of central New Mexico, including the following area, South Central Mountains. This includes the Ruidoso area burn scars. * WHEN. From Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday evening. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop again Tuesday afternoon across the south central mountains. Slow moving thunderstorms will be capable of rainfall rates exceeding one inch per hour, and may move down drainage basins, increasing the risk of flash flooding. Areas on and downstream of burn scars will be especially susceptible to flash flooding and debris flow. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood |
