Brief Description Flood Warning
Detailed Description The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in North Carolina. Neuse River Near Clayton affecting Johnston County. * WHAT. Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE. Neuse River near Clayton. * WHEN. Until tomorrow evening. * IMPACTS. At 9.0 feet, Minor flooding begins. Minor overflow occurs on both banks. Water reaches the edge of the Neuse River Greenway trail. At 10.0 feet, Upstream of the gage site, the Neuse River Greenway at Covered Bridge Road begins to flood. At 13.0 feet, Flooding will close the Neuse River Greenway trail. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 6:15 AM EDT Tuesday the stage was 11.3 feet. - Forecast. The river is expected to rise to a crest of 11.8 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow morning. - Flood stage is 9.0 feet. - Flood History. This crest compares to a previous crest of 10.6 feet on 09/16/2018. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
