Brief Description Flood Watch
Detailed Description Thunderstorm activity is expected to develop over the northern Sacramento Mountains including the Ruidoso area. Flash flooding could quickly develop especially over the burn scar areas of the South Fork fire near Ruidoso each this afternoon and Saturday afternoon. * WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE. A portion of central New Mexico, including the following area, South Central Mountains. * WHEN. Until 9 PM MDT this evening. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - Thunderstorm activity caused by a surge of monsoon moisture over the region resulting in heavy rainfall that could lead to flash flooding. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
