Brief Description Flood Warning
Detailed Description The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Texas. South Sulphur River Near Cooper affecting Delta and Hopkins Counties. Trinity River Near Long Lake (Oakwood) affecting Leon, Anderson and Freestone Counties. * WHAT. Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE. Trinity River near Long Lake (Oakwood). * WHEN. Until Sunday evening. * IMPACTS. At 42.0 feet, Moderate flooding of numerous ranches along the river is expected. The Coffield Prison farm and ranch lands will be moderately flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 7:30 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 43.0 feet. - Bankfull stage is 35.0 feet. - Recent Activity. The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 7:30 PM CDT Wednesday was 44.2 feet. - Forecast. The river is expected to fall below flood stage Sunday morning and continue falling to 33.1 feet Monday evening. - Flood stage is 35.0 feet. - Flood History. This crest compares to a previous crest of 42.9 feet on 04/05/1977. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
