| Detailed Description | FFWRNK The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for. Northeastern Bland County in southwestern Virginia. Southwestern Giles County in southwestern Virginia. Western Montgomery County in southwestern Virginia. Northern Pulaski County in southwestern Virginia. * Until 200 AM EDT Sunday. * At 751 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD. Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include. Poplar Hill. Thessalia. White Gate. Bane. Parrott. Mc Coy. Chapel. This includes the following streams and drainages. East Wilderness Creek, New River, Little Walker Creek, Nobusiness Creek, East River, Dry Branch, Back Creek, Dismal Creek, Carper Branch, Cecil Branch and Kimberling Creek. |
