Brief Description Flood Advisory
Detailed Description * WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE. Portions of central and south central Nebraska, including the following counties, in central Nebraska, Howard and Merrick. In south central Nebraska, Hall. * WHEN. Until 430 AM CDT Thursday. * IMPACTS. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 1024 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated ongoing heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the Advisory area. Between 1 and 4 inches of rain have already fallen across much of the Advisory area Wednesday, with another 1 to 2 inches possible overnight into early Thursday morning. - This includes the following streams and drainages. Beaver Creek, Moores Creek, Prairie Creek, Prairie Slough, Warm Slough, Silver Creek and Flat Creek. - Some locations that could experience flooding include. Grand Island, Wood River, Alda and St. Libory. - Some degree of street flooding is likely in Grand Island. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
