Brief Description Severe Thunderstorm Watch
Detailed Description Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. What: Wind gusts of 90 to 110 km/h Hail 2 to 4 cm in diameter Heavy downpours with rainfall rates up to 30 mm in an hour Risk of a tornado When: Now into this evening. Additional information: A cold front will track east across the area today. Thunderstorms are expected to develop ahead of and along this cold front. Some of these storms may become severe, giving strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy downpours. There is also the possibility of a brief tornado this afternoon. ### Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.
